Turner?s could be released:?A rising salary cap number and the emergence of?Jacquizz Rodgers could be conspiring to drive Michael Turner out of Atlanta. The National Football Post reports that the team could cut ties to the veteran running back and search for more help at the position. Turner, who turns 31 on Wednesday, rushed for just 800 yards this season ? his lowest total in five seasons with the Falcons. While Turner?s departure would certainly signal more work for Rodgers, don?t look for the young back to become a featured back. Keep an eye on what Atlanta does during free agency and the draft to get a sense of what the backfield?s fantasy value will be.
Vikings looking to trade Harvin: Life with?Percy Harvin hasn?t always been easy for the Minnesota Vikings. Before going on injured reserve in 2012 with an ankle injury, the explosive wide receiver often erupted at his coaches. Now it appears the team could look to trade the multi-dimensional wideout. It would be interesting to see what Harvin could fetch in return for the Vikes; the team already had a need at wide receiver ? it?s a need that would only get larger if they actually deal Harvin. We all know the feats of strength that?Adrian Peterson can perform, but it would get significantly harder for him to play at that level in 2013 without some help from the passing game. Certainly,?Christian Ponder would agree.
Welker, Lloyd no ?locks? to return:?There is a chance the New England Patriots could be ready to start over at wide receiver. Local reports suggest both?Wes Welker and Brandon Lloyd could be looking for new homes this offseason. Welker and Lloyd were first and second on the club, respectively, in catches and receiving yards. While Welker?s high price tag could be the reason for his departure, Lloyd?s issue was his inability to become the factor in the pass attack that the team expected. The move could free New England up to chase free agents like?Mike Wallace or?Greg Jennings. As for Welker and Lloyd, it?s hard to imagine them landing in a situation as productive as New England. It?s hard to make a full evaluation until both players sign, but it?s also hard to imagine their fantasy value going anywhere but down.
